Rauno Nieminen is a third-generation kantele player and builder who has been playing and crafting kanteles for 47 years.

Heikki Lindgren is a Helsinki-based ambient music artist who incorporates traditional Finnish instruments into his music alongside electronics.

Together, the duo has been exploring the sound of the kantele. Their work has been featured on the Avaruusromua radio program and the Unexplained Sounds compilation "Anthology of Electroacoustic Music From Finland” (2023).

This album includes kantele sounds from 13th-century Novgorod, Saarijärvi Parkatinniemi, and Mahlu, as well as sounds of Otsihumba from Namibia.
